A doula is a trained, non-medical professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to expectant people in pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Bravo Birth DFW can be an invaluable part of your birth team because we provide continuous, caring, unbiased support as well as a wealth of knowledge to the laboring person. We respect your right to birth however you choose. Whether you are planning a medicated, unmedicated, or cesarean birth – your goals are our goals and we will be there with you every step of the way. We attend home births, birth center births, and hospital births in Dallas, Fort Worth, and the surrounding areas.
Birth Doula Package
Two Prenatal Visits
In order to best serve you, we want to be knowledgeable regarding your personal preferences in birthing options. In the comfort of your home, we’ll get to know each other as we review your goals, answer your questions, and create your customized birth plan. We will practice coping techniques and comfort measures for each stage of labor as well as discuss your plans and expectations for the weeks following your birth. We want to ensure you feel fully prepared for your birth and postpartum experience.
24/7 Phone Support
From the time our contract is signed, we are available to you via phone or email to answer any questions, offer support, or refer you to other reliable resources when necessary. You can feel free to draw on our knowledge and expertise whenever you need us.
On Call from Day One
Although some doulas go on call around the 36th to 38th week of pregnancy, we are on call for you from the day you hire us, not after an arbitrary point in pregnancy. This means we are ready to join you in labor when you ask for us, whether you are at 30 weeks or 42 weeks pregnant. We won’t travel far from your birthing location and we’re always prepared at a moment’s notice to be with you.
Continuous Labor Support
Once labor begins, your doula will join you in labor when you request her. We will remain by your side and attend to your needs for the duration of your birth. Afterward, we’ll stay with you until you are comfortably settled and most likely ready to rest.
Support during the postpartum period is essential. Within a week or two following your birth, your doula will visit you in your home at your convenience. We want to see how you are recovering physically from birth and mentally adjusting to life with a new baby. We can share techniques regarding infant care, offer advice regarding breastfeeding or bottle feeding, answer questions regarding your postpartum health, or provide outside resources when necessary.
Postpartum Phone Support
After pregnancy and birth, we understand your need for support doesn’t end. Having a new baby comes with an entirely new series of questions and concerns. You will continue to have access to your doula via phone and email for 6 weeks after your birth. We are here to help ensure your postpartum period goes as smoothly as possible.
The cost of birth doula services is $900. A retainer fee of $300 is required to reserve your spot in our schedule at the time of contract signing. The remaining balance may be paid off throughout the duration of your pregnancy, with the total due at 37 weeks.
When combined with placenta encapsulation or belly binding services, you will receive $100 off your total fee.
Contact us today to schedule your initial, no-obligation consultation! We look forward to building a relationship with you.
